Century Metal Recycling Private Limited (CMR) was established in 2006 by Mr GS Agarwala along with his son Mr. Mohan Agarwal. The Agarwals have rich experience in the line. They have grown from a small plant of only 500 Tons annual capacity in 1986 to thelargest recycling plant in India in 2006 with 60000 Tons annual capacity.
CMR can boast of being India's most advanced plant for recycling Aluminium and Zinc for the manufacture of Aluminium alloys and Zinc alloys at Faridabad, near New Delhi.
Recycling of aluminium is both eco-friendly and energy saving. Compared to primary production of aluminium metal, recycling saves electricity consumption to the extent of over 95%. 100000 tons of recycled aluminium can save enough electricity to light up a whole city. The effluents generated in a primary aluminium plant like redmud, spent pot line and fluorine gas are hazardous whereas in recycling no hazardous effluents are generated.
Today, the world production of recycled aluminium outstrips the production of primary aluminium by a big margin. Aluminium is the only metal which can be recycled again and again without any loss of its metal properties.
It is expected that by the turn of the century, 95% of world's aluminium consumption would be recycled aluminium.
